Key Responsibilities

  • •Review HVDC system architecture, design criteria, and technical interfaces for VSC-HVDC terminal stations.
  • •Review OEM documents for VSC converters, converter valves, converter transformers, auxiliaries, and associated equipment.
  • •Review station control, pole control, valve control, protection, monitoring, sequence-of-events systems, and control/protection coordination with AC substations, grid protection, SCADA, and telecom.
  • •Review applicable system studies (load flow, short circuit, harmonic, insulation coordination, overvoltage, dynamic performance, EMI) and verify technical interfaces between station components.
  • •Support design reviews and troubleshoot complex technical issues during installation, testing, and system integration; assess readiness for energization and trial operation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or Power Electronics.
  • •Minimum 12 years of experience in HVDC, FACTS, power-electronic converter systems, or EHV system integration.
  • •Demonstrated experience with VSC-HVDC or comparable converter-based transmission systems.
  • •Knowledge of HVDC control, protection, system studies, converter transformers, valves, and harmonic performance.
  • •Experience in OEM design review, testing, and commissioning is preferred.
