Key Responsibilities

  • •Define premium luxury bedding standards for consistent hand-feel, uniform dye penetration, breathable/durable construction, and natural surface character.
  • •Develop sensory quality benchmarks and partner with mills to refine finishing processes that enhance perceived value.
  • •Lead development of exclusive bedding materials (fibers, blends, fills, and performance finishes) and pilot sustainable alternatives.
  • •Drive cost-down initiatives via yield optimization, construction efficiency, and analysis of cost drivers such as fiber origin and finishing processes.
  • •Create and maintain technical specifications and a master material library, including down/down-alternative fill specs and responsible sourcing certifications.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • •10+ years in bedding/textile sourcing, development, or merchandising for home goods, apparel, or related categories.
  • •Deep knowledge of textile manufacturing processes (weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing), fiber types, and regional quality differences.
  • •Strong cost analysis skills, including yield/waste optimization, thread count optimization, and landed cost modeling.
  • •Experience building and maintaining material libraries, including SKU rationalization and article consolidation.
