Job Summary

Manage project engineering and detailed design for designated new power generation projects within the Generation Electric Projects & Construction organization. Lead engineering project management across initiation through planning, design and drawing submittals, constructability reviews, change control, testing/acceptance, and transition to internal customers. Coordinate internal/external stakeholders, manage risk and quality, use PMI/PMBOK-aligned project management tools, and oversee engineering firms to control scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage the project engineering and detailed design phase across the full project life cycle for designated power generation projects.
•Decompose product scope into constructible project scope solutions and ensure specification quality, validation/control, and optimum performance.
•Coordinate internal and external stakeholders (including operations and architectural/engineering partners) and communicate engineering status and performance information.
•Utilize engineering and project management tools/techniques and manage engineering contractor performance to maintain scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
•Oversee planning and documentation such as RFI logs, and coordinate with project managers and project controls on schedule and cost while maintaining budget constraints.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 67,900 - 140,700 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology) from an ABET-accredited program.
•Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in a utility-based environment.
•Proficiency with engineering tools and computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•Proficient in project management principles and engineering risk evaluation to make recommendations to senior management.
•Ability to plan safety into scope and work in adverse conditions, including travel and climbing to elevated platforms.
