Job Summary

Lead the Events Analytics Platform (EAP) team building and scaling Sentry’s core data platform for event storage, querying, and analysis. Drive architectural evolution and system stability while mentoring engineers. Own development of analytical-query and routing capabilities, unifying event data for fast cross-event querying at scale, and enabling workloads for AI agents and MCP servers. Partner with Product Engineering, Streaming, Production Engineering, Security, and Compliance.

•Grow and develop a team of engineers focused on ownership and impact.
•Set the team’s technical and strategic direction, balancing short-term stability with long-term architecture evolution.
•Drive core EAP feature development, including complex analytical queries, routing logic across fidelity levels, and storage/compute separation.
•Ensure EAP supports AI agent and MCP server workload demands.
•Lead incident response, postmortems, and scaling challenges while partnering with cross-functional teams.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 220,000 - 280,000 annually

•10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years of people management with career development and performance management.
•Strong technical background in data platforms, storage systems, or analytical backends (e.g., ClickHouse, Pinot, or Druid).
•Experience with distributed systems, query optimization, or scaling data-intensive workloads.
•Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
•Proficiency with Python, Rust, or a similar programming language (plus familiarity with observability/developer tools/event-driven systems).
