Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead engineering design of fire detection, alarm, suppression, standpipe, and emergency communication systems for tunnel and station environments.
  • •Stamp and seal fire protection and life safety drawings as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • •Ensure designs comply with NFPA 502 (and related codes), local AHJ requirements, and company project standards.
  • •Coordinate with internal engineering, construction, and operations teams to integrate fire/life safety systems into tunnel design and construction packages.
  • •Interface with AHJs, fire marshals, and third-party reviewers during design review, permitting, acceptance, commissioning, and performance verification.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • •Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to stamp fire protection drawings (Nevada and/or Tennessee preferred).
  • •Minimum 5 years designing fire protection and life safety systems, including direct experience stamping drawings.
  • •Strong working knowledge of NFPA 502, NFPA 72, and NFPA 13/14 and related codes for tunnels and underground transit.
  • •Ability to work onsite in Las Vegas or Nashville.
