Lead and oversee HSBC Innovation Banking's Financial Crime Risk & Controls in the First Line of Defense, designing AML, sanctions, AB&C, tax transparency and fraud controls across client onboarding, transaction monitoring, and ongoing relationships; provide SME guidance to product and onboarding teams; embed risk culture, monitor KPIs/KRIs, and coach senior teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the Financial Crime Risk Management Framework across AML, Sanctions, AB&C, Tax Transparency and Fraud, including RCAs and overall control environment effectiveness.
•Serve as the primary AML subject matter expert, providing timely guidance and maintaining awareness of emerging typologies, trends and enforcement actions.
•Support the business to identify, assess and mitigate AML/CTF risks across products, clients and geographies.
•Provide financial crime risk input to new product approvals, strategic initiatives, and client onboarding, retention and exit decisions.
•Design and maintain end-to-end AML control frameworks across the customer lifecycle; monitor effectiveness via KPIs, KRIs and MI, and lead escalation and remediation of material issues.

•Extensive experience in AML and Financial Crime within banking, fintech, or financial services with deep understanding of AML frameworks; CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening.
•Demonstrated ability to operate across diverse business units, innovative product sets and a broad array of customer segments.
•Proven senior stakeholder management and committee representation as a Financial Crime Subject Matter Expert.
•Experience leading and managing teams performing financial crime risk management.
