Lead the derivative accounting team delivering technical hedge accounting excellence across Ripple Treasury’s managed services client portfolio. Serve as the primary SME for ASC 815 and IFRS 9, owning deliverable quality from hedge documentation and effectiveness testing through journal entries, disclosures, and audit support. Provide client escalation, guide hedge structuring, translate FASB/IASB updates, and drive scalable process improvements with technology and KPI-driven execution.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the primary SME for hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including guidance on fair value, cash flow, and net investment hedges, de-designation, and disclosures.
•Review and approve hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and effectiveness testing methodologies across the client portfolio.
•Oversee effectiveness assessments using quantitative and qualitative methods on prospective and retrospective bases.
•Manage, mentor, and develop the derivative accounting team, including performance expectations, coaching, feedback, and resource planning.
•Identify and implement process improvements across the hedge accounting lifecycle, including standardized workflows, templates, close checklists, and KPI tracking.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 176,000 - 210,000 annually

Key Requirements

•CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
•10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 7 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9.
•Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams in public accounting, managed services, or corporate finance.
•Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including hedge accounting elections, effectiveness testing methodologies, and disclosure requirements.
•Strong understanding of derivative instruments across asset classes (e.g., interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX forwards, options, commodity derivatives).
