Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain boilers, air compressors, flotation main lift stations, hot water systems, and refrigeration equipment assets and processes to eliminate downtime and unsafe conditions.
  • •Supervise and manage the roundsman crew, ensuring compliance with plant safety policies and food safety programs while maintaining the PSM program.
  • •Maintain and manage carcass coolers refrigeration systems, using carcass condition and temperature considerations to support shrink quality, yields, ergonomics, work compensation, and profitability.
  • •Prioritize and schedule roundsman crew work with the maintenance planners and ensure repairs meet food safety guidelines.
  • •Verify annual renewal of equipment licenses and that operating certificates are current; actively participate in plant maintenance activities and assist with HACCP/USDA and PSM/refrigeration programs as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (post-high school education preferred).
  • •5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or boiler/refrigeration field with a technical background.
  • •Proficiency with Windows-based software for email and entering data into document templates or simple queries.
  • •Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and reading).
  • •Ability to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, including refrigeration equipment (ammonia) and related controls/power (230-480V 3ph, 4160V).
