Job Summary

Lead safe, efficient, and reliable execution of the mine plan as department head for mine operations. Oversee operations covering drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, pit development, mine services, training, and projects—while driving high-performance culture across shifts. Manage production, quality, operational discipline, and key metrics, and partner with Mine Maintenance, Technical Services, Integrated Planning, Operations Centre, Mill Operations, HR, and Health & Safety. Support automation expansion and emerging mining technologies.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a courageous safety leader and role model, integrating safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence into daily decisions.
•Provide overall leadership for the safe execution of short-, medium-, and long-range mine plans.
•Coordinate personnel, equipment, and priorities to achieve production and quality targets while maintaining alignment between planning and field execution.
•Monitor operational metrics and implement strategies to improve productivity, utilization, equipment effectiveness, and plan compliance.
•Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and capital planning; support evaluation of emerging mining technologies and automation systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 164,000 - 202,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10 to 15 years of progressive open pit mining experience with significant operational leadership responsibilities.
•Proven leadership managing large operational teams through multiple supervision levels.
•Demonstrated success delivering results in safety, production, workforce engagement, and operational improvement.
•Strong mine operations knowledge including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, mine services, and pit development.
•Knowledge of British Columbia mining regulations and industry best practices, plus exceptional coaching and communication skills.
