Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and execute the mine site AI strategy aligned to operational priorities, ensuring measurable production and cost outcomes.
  • •Lead identification, scoping, and business case development for high-value AI use cases across mining, processing, smelter, and support services.
  • •Oversee the AI solution lifecycle (data acquisition, model development, production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement) using MLOps/LLMOps in mine environments.
  • •Integrate AI and machine learning models with OT systems (including SCADA, fleet management systems, mine planning tools, historians, and condition monitoring platforms).
  • •Lead and mentor AI teams, drive responsible AI governance and compliance, produce executive reporting, and manage vendor/technology partnerships.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related analytical/engineering discipline.
  • •Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering Data and AI initiatives across mining operations (production, maintenance, MTS, processing, smelter).
  • •Minimum 10 years in AI/ML engineering or data science, including at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role overseeing AI programmes in industrial/resources/mining environments.
  • •Deep knowledge across mining operations (MTS, mining operations, processing, smelter) and experience translating AI use cases into measurable deliverables.
  • •Proficiency with AI/ML, predictive maintenance and computer vision in industrial/OT environments, including integration with SCADA, DCS, historians, and fleet management systems.
