Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure survival equipment and avionics maintenance work is completed to approved data and quality standards, maintaining airworthiness through task delegation and authorisation.
  • •Supervise personnel to maintain maintenance schedules, escalate issues as required, and provide reporting on impacts to the wider programme.
  • •Lead delivery against tactical short-to-medium term targets, including progress reporting and prioritisation to maximise efficiency.
  • •Manage regulatory activities and performance indicators, supporting management reviews, audits, and corrective actions for non-compliance.
  • •Apply safety management system requirements and human factors/error management philosophies; maintain training and task competence/authorisations, including oversight of HMSS repairs and maintenance.

Key Requirements

  • •Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (ideally aeronautical engineering or military equivalent) and an academic qualification of at least City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 (or equivalent).
  • •Minimum 2 years working at technician level prior to undertaking a supervisor role.
  • •Demonstrated breadth of experience, currency, and recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge, and authorities for the aircraft type or bays.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training, including PDR training/experience.
  • •Strong people management and motivational skills, with operational safety and SMS (safety management system) knowledge.
