Job Summary

Lead and contribute to the Transport Planning and Engineering team in Christchurch, driving project delivery, client engagement, and cross‑discipline collaboration. Shape strategy, oversee scope, budget, and quality, mentor colleagues, and help expand WSP’s New Zealand transport capabilities through initiatives, business development, and delivering credible, high‑impact transportation projects for a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and contribute to project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality; contribute to achieving planned profit.
•Manage assigned projects to ensure that all deliverables meet or exceed clients’ explicit and implicit needs and expectations; oversee reporting on progress and budget.
•Engage with clients to understand needs, provide guidance, and identify opportunities for extensions and cross‑selling.
•Liaise with staff from other WSP transportation teams nationally and internationally to support project work and business development.
•Undertake planning, scoping, inputs/outputs, verification activities and ensure work complies with professional standards and Quality Assurance.

Key Requirements

•Min. 10 years’ professional experience within the field of transportation infrastructure.
•Experience with transportation assessments, investigations, strategy studies, feasibility studies, traffic/transportation modelling interpretation, evaluation, scheme assessments.
•Chartered Professional membership EngNZ or working towards.
•Extensive experience in writing quality and credible complex reports and documents.
•Proven experience in market winning work and delivering projects.
