Job Summary

Lead CHS’s Energy accounting activities for the Refined Fuels wholesale product line, including key responsibility for the month-end and year-end close. Manage and mentor a team of cost accountants while directing financial reporting and analysis to support accurate internal and external SEC reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP, maintain strong internal controls, and drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage a team of cost accountants supporting commercial and refinery accounting, including mentoring, performance assessment, and talent retention.
•Lead the month-end and year-end close process for Energy in accordance with the accounting calendar.
•Direct development and preparation of financial reports and analysis for accurate SEC reporting and footnote requirements.
•Ensure accounting policies and procedures follow company policies and US GAAP while monitoring evolving guidance.
•Build and manage internal controls, prepare audit work papers, and support continuous improvement in processes, systems, and reporting.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or a related field.
•4+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
•Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing levels of leadership responsibilities.
•Proficiency in MS Office suite.
•Previous experience with JDE and SAP accounting software (preferred).
