Job Summary

Geo-environmental graduate consultant role supporting desk studies, site investigations and remediation projects within AECOM’s Dublin SGR team. You’ll work on live projects for clients across sectors, learn through mentoring and the two-year ADVANCE graduate programme, and develop skills in data analysis, risk assessment, and environmental protection within a global infrastructure firm.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and undertake desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments and remediation solutions including laboratory procurement for environmental analysis, data analysis, factual and interpretative report writing
•Coordinate field service/laboratory subcontractors and fully supervise ground investigation works, collecting soil and groundwater samples/data
•Learn to compile and interpret field and analytical data into conceptual models to inform risk assessments for human health, groundwater/surface water and ground gas/vapour and design mitigation/remediation solutions
•Advocate for best health and safety practices and address issues throughout the life of a project
•Support implementation of AECOM’s environmental protection and sustainability principles within the SGR Services business

Key Requirements

•MSc preferred but not essential; degree in Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology, Applied Geology, Exploration Geology, Environmental Geology, Physical Geography, Hydrology, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering (to include modules on land contamination); interest in contaminated land
•Willingness and ability to travel and work away from home for periods of time (supported by the business)
•A full driving licence, or access to reliable transport, would be beneficial as the role will involve travel for site surveys
•Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions
•Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing, and to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors)
