Job Summary

Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy across the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept through planning, detailed design, and construction. Join the Roads team in the North West, providing client-facing advisory and technical lead/reviewer input. Manage multi-disciplinary coordination, prepare fee proposals and budgets, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental legislation, and in-house quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead technical delivery of highway consultancy services across feasibility, concept, planning, detailed design, and construction stages.
•Manage projects to coordinate and ensure compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs across varying scales and complexities.
•Act as a project technical lead and reviewer, supporting others to maximize contributions to project/team goals.
•Prepare fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects, while developing and delivering discrete and overall project solutions.
•Lead and manage other staff to deliver design drawings, specifications, standard construction details, bills of quantities, and support tender package preparation.

Key Requirements

•Relevant highway design knowledge across the full project lifecycle, including experience with road geometry, junctions, active travel, drainage, and road restraint systems.
•Demonstrable experience leading one or more design disciplines on projects such as roads, public transport, active travel, and public/private development.
•Experience preparing contract documents or supporting contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts.
•Ability to use, direct, and check design outputs using Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage and/or PDS.
•Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with extensive post-professional qualification experience, with strong understanding of applicable design codes and CDM Designers Duties.
