Key Responsibilities

  • •Proactively manage an assigned caseload of complex property claims requiring knowledge of coverage and potential liability.
  • •Investigate claim damages by researching information from the insured, third parties, and external sources.
  • •Identify coverage concerns, review prior loss history, and create Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals when appropriate.
  • •Determine and negotiate complex claims settlement amounts within authority limits, and collaborate for settlements outside authority limits.
  • •Maintain accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience for moderate-complexity losses, including writing estimates and handling dwelling/structural damages.
  • •Advanced estimating knowledge using Xactimate or similar estimating tools/platforms.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or handle catastrophe duty when needed; acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
