Senior Structural Engineer to join the Buildings & Places team, delivering design solutions for complex UK projects in London or St Albans. You’ll lead small projects, mentor graduates, and work with steel and concrete frames across education, health, defence and commercial sectors, using BIM workflows and structural software to ensure high-quality technical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the structural engineering design on complex projects, delivering solutions and calculations with visibility to the project budget and schedule.
•Supervise and mentor junior engineers and graduates, providing technical guidance and review of workflows.
•Collaborate with external design teams and contractors to ensure seamless integration of design and construction processes.
•Produce accurate design documentation and contribute to design workshops and estimating activities.
•Maintain high technical quality and engage with internal design reviews to meet project standards.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
•Chartered Engineer (CEng)
•Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers
•Experience delivering design solutions on complex structures projects (steel and concrete frames) and coordinating with external design teams/contractors
•Proficiency with building engineering software such as Tekla, SCIA, TEDDS and collaboration with BIM technicians
