Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the long-term architecture and technical direction for core data platform capabilities, accountable for reliability, cost efficiency, and adoption.
  • •Design and build foundational platform components across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, compute, and consumption.
  • •Architect multi-tenant platform standards, including cross-layer contracts, tenant isolation, and SLOs to enable autonomous producers/consumers and improve compute/storage efficiency.
  • •Lead cross-team technical initiatives and architecture reviews; influence platform strategy and mentor Senior engineers.
  • •Stay hands-on with code on the hardest platform problems and partner with analytics, data engineering, and data science teams to close capability gaps.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years of software or data engineering experience, including at least 6 years building data platform infrastructure.
  • •Built and operated a data platform (or a significant component) in production, such as ingestion, transformation, compute/query, orchestration, metadata/lineage, or data quality.
  • •Able to quantify component scale with concrete metrics like data volume, throughput, pipeline/jobs count, query concurrency/latency, tenants/teams onboarded, and infrastructure cost.
  • •Deep understanding of big data and distributed systems challenges (partitioning, shuffle, skew, idempotency, backfills) and designing batch vs. streaming architectures.
  • •Expert programming skills in Java, Kotlin, or Python, with experience on public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, plus big data tools like Spark/DBT and open table formats such as Iceberg or Delta Lake.
