Job Summary

Senior civil/structural engineer responsible for the design and delivery of civil and structural systems for bulk materials handling and marine terminal projects within the Ports & Marine sector. Lead design activities from concept through detailed design and construction support, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs compliant with Canadian codes and project specs.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare and check civil and structural design drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for bulk materials handling and marine infrastructure projects (conveyor galleries, transfer towers, wharf and terminal structures, foundations, retaining systems, loading/unloading facilities)
•Develop and review detailed civil/structural models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks; lead civil and structural design activities from concept through detailed design and construction support
•Prepare and review grading, drainage, site development, foundation, and structural designs for port/terminal facilities; review with geotechnical, marine, mechanical, electrical, and process teams
•Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to deliver high-quality, technically sound design outputs; participate in design reviews and risk assessments
•Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers and designers; manage deliverable registers and quality assurance of outputs

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 110,000 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at least 6 years of civil/structural experience in industrial infrastructure, bulk materials handling systems, ports, marine facilities, heavy civil infrastructure, or related projects
•Minimum 3 years of experience supporting engineering projects through detailed design phases and construction support activities
•Professional Engineer (PEng) designation in Canada, or eligible to obtain PEng registration within 12 months
•Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; Revit experience for structural/infrastructure design; Navisworks for model integration and clash detection
•Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and manage technical deliverables with minimal supervision
