Job Summary

Provide technical guidance for the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural engineering solutions for electrical substation projects for public and private clients. Work with WSP’s Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural team to perform structural engineering tasks, analyze site and survey data, develop designs and documentation, and support construction through specifications, calculations, and 2D/3D visualizations—while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze data from physical sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS, subsurface utilities, maps, and geotechnical sources to support project development.
•Perform structural engineering work including research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions to confirm conformance with standards and permits.
•Develop and apply modeling, design requirements, and operating strategies to deliver future-ready structural engineering solutions.
•Prepare reports, documentation, calculations, sketches, and 2D/3D illustrations, maintaining quality control for measurements and statistical reporting.
•Collaborate cross-functionally, assist with scoping small- to medium-sized projects, and mentor junior team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or closely related).
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience with structural or civil design.
•Engineer in Training certification.
•Knowledge of structural engineering principles, design/build processes, and application to project work.
•Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
