Job Summary

Lead day-to-day delivery of civil engineering consultancy services across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept through planning, detailed design, and construction. Provide technical expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks, and utilities for development projects. Act as project leader/Project Manager when required, support and guide technical staff, and ensure projects meet budget, programme, quality, and technical/legal compliance while engaging clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead day-to-day technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services across feasibility, concept design, planning, detailed design, and construction.
•Provide technical expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, streetscape, earthworks, and utilities for land, property, and infrastructure development projects.
•Provide project leadership on multi-disciplinary projects, acting as Project Manager where required.
•Support, guide, and collaborate with experienced and developing technical staff; work with internal and external multidisciplinary professionals.
•Ensure projects are delivered within budget, on programme, and to required quality for technical and legal compliance, including client engagement and stakeholder management.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategies, flood risk assessments and management, utility design and planning, with working knowledge of the development sector.
•Design experience focused on the development sector (drainage, flood risk, highways, earthworks and utilities).
•Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.
•Knowledge of relevant design codes (e.g., Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, Local Authority Design Guidance, SuDS Manual) and preparation of drawings for contract documentation and approvals.
•Use or direct/check use of relevant software including Micro Drainage, Info Drainage, Civils 3D and/or PDS; plus experience liaising with clients and authorities to secure technical approvals and agreements.
