Job Summary

Lead materials & process engineering technical execution for missile hardware programs, supporting design and manufacturing activities through program milestones, review boards, and change control. Coordinate M&P&E resources to meet committed schedule and cost, align materials positions with program deliverables, and resolve technical/operational problems. Provide support to design reviews, MRB/CCB/PCB/ERB processes, mentor early-career engineers, and present technical results to large technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide M&P&E support for program review board meetings (CCB, MRB, PCB, ERB, PMCB) and ensure accurate technical outputs.
•Ensure peer reviews are completed and M&P&E positions are aligned with program deliverables and presented as “One Voice” prior to report distribution.
•Manage workload and coordinate M&P&E resources to meet program schedule, cost, and requirements.
•Lead program team activities including trade studies for materials and processes, benchmarking materials testing methods, and documenting material choice justifications.
•Lead technical problem resolution, participate in failure investigation/support, and mentor or train early career engineers.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a university degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
•Experience in materials problem solving, including process improvements or selecting alternate materials/protective coatings to address material issues.
•Experience with mechanical test methods (tensile, compression, lap shear, hardness, viscosity) and/or chemical analysis methods (FT-IR, DMA, TMA, Gas Chromatography, adhesive cure rate).
