Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide personal financial management classes/workshops (including arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal/career events).
  • •Communicate with installation leadership/POCs, participate in individual and group supervision, and support virtual counseling using secure electronic communication methods when authorized.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (associate degree + 4 years' experience or high school diploma + 6 years' experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
  • •Must hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
