Job Summary

Join the Mine Waste team to deliver tailings and geotechnical services across the mining industry. You’ll oversee and manage project tasks, interpret data, and produce conclusions and technical reports for external and internal clients. The role includes technical direction and mentoring of junior engineers, quality assurance supervision for tailings dams, and support with closure planning, deposition, stability, and seepage analysis. Work is reviewed by senior staff and you’ll contribute to proposals.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide tailings services and technical advice on complex tailings issues for clients on mining projects.
•Oversee/ manage projects or project tasks, including interpretation of data, analysis, and development of recommendations.
•Provide technical direction and mentoring for junior tailings/geotechnical engineers.
•Manage and analyze tailings and geotechnical reporting, including design/inspection of mine waste storage facilities and construction supervision.
•Provide quality assurance supervision for earthwork and liner installation for tailings dams and associated mine waste infrastructure; provide safety leadership in health & safety.

Key Requirements

•Relevant BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with 8+ years post-graduation experience in tailings and geotechnical engineering.
•Honors MSc in the Geotechnical field (preferred).
•Professional registration at GhIE (preferred).
•Legislation related to engineering design supporting water use and waste management license applications.
•Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and MS Projects, including slope stability and seepage analysis/modelling software.
