Key Responsibilities

  • •Organize and supervise execution of responsible dredging cutter suction works according to planning, budgeting, and methods, ensuring quality, safety, and environmental standards with minimal risk to persons and equipment.
  • •When highest authority on board (SDM), oversee optimal utilization and planning of CSD maintenance and ensure daily production aligns with operational capabilities.
  • •Schedule personnel and aux vessels, take necessary decisions to carry out work safely and in line with applicable international and national laws, company procedures, and guidelines.
  • •Maintain overall control of CSD maintenance and operation, and welfare, discipline, and training of the crew to sustain an efficient and safe working environment.
  • •Monitor production and equipment performance (e.g., W&T of soil conveying parts and cubic meters pumped), report defects, accidents/incidents/near misses, and implement maintenance and quality plan activities including drills/inspections under ISM management.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma or degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience.
  • •STCW Code with Basic and Advance with Manila amendments; hold a valid statutory license issued by the flag authority for specific on-board job.
  • •10+ years of experience (preferably worldwide), including at least 7.5 years on a CSD with minimum 1500 KW cutter power.
  • •Proven experience leading high performance-driven CSD operations, with full understanding of CSD parts and working principles and their limitations.
  • •Familiar with SMS (safety management system) and able to perform Risk Assessment / PTW; proven understanding of dredging methodology and pump systems (e.g., UWP, IBP, vacuum, cutter diesel-direct and diesel-electric CSD).
