Key Responsibilities

  • •Make and receive calls with current policyholders to perform retention activities, including cross-selling additional Nationwide commercial lines products.
  • •Handle inbound sales calls by quoting and binding new business, and manage trailing documents for states (especially those with complex underwriting guidelines).
  • •Contact policyholders to process policy changes, assist with retention-related efforts, and follow up after claim closures to review and inquire about claims experience.
  • •Reach out to customers with pending cancellations to save policies, identify potential discounts, and acquire requirements to qualify.
  • •Interpret complex contracts/policy provisions and enter accurate information into related systems while serving as an expert resource for peers.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a valid Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance license or obtain it within two weeks of the start date; continued employment depends on maintaining the required license.
  • •Have three or more years of related work experience, preferably in commercial or multiple property/casualty insurance call center environments.
  • •Develop advanced knowledge of commercial insurance products, processing systems/procedures, and state regulations for sales, policy maintenance, and processing.
  • •Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to explain technical insurance information and influence policyholders.
  • •Be able to operate personal computer/business software while handling multiple systems and screens accurately in a call center environment.
