Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan ahead of flights to confirm ground handling arrangements are in place, obtain load specifications, and build up the load to Emirates standards and safety requirements.
  • •Supervise the Ground Handling Agent to achieve load optimization and loading efficiency, prepare loading instruction reports, and ensure safe aircraft loading and unloading.
  • •Prepare aircraft weight and balance/trim sheet for submission to the Pilot in Command, and obtain general declaration, flight plan, and weather reports via the Ground Handling Agent and authorities.
  • •Ensure handling of time/temperature-controlled and pharmaceutical shipments complies with EU GDP requirements; maintain punctuality by managing expected delays with crew coordination.
  • •Conduct security search of main deck cargo compartment and perform dangerous goods inspections and incident handling, ensuring required permits and paperwork accompany special cargo types.

Key Requirements

  • •A Level education (or equivalent) with experience in a cargo environment, ideally including in airline cargo.
  • •Extensive experience in cargo/airline/ground handling across all areas in a major international airport.
  • •Completion of training in load planning, loading supervision, dangerous goods acceptance, aircraft loading and handling, aviation security, SMS, airside safety, and special cargo handling (IATA LAR/PER).
  • •Strong knowledge and competence in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) through experience and training.
  • •Ability to work independently with strong written and spoken communication and good interpersonal skills under pressure.
