Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide specialist technical oversight for ±500 kV VSC-HVDC terminal stations, including converter technology, system interfaces, major equipment, controls, protection, and integration.
  • •Review HVDC system architecture, design criteria, technical specifications, and interface requirements across the full VSC-HVDC scheme.
  • •Review OEM design documentation for VSC converters, converter transformers, valves, DC/AC equipment, filters, and auxiliary systems; assess station control and HVDC control, including protection and monitoring/sequence-of-events.
  • •Assess system studies (load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, harmonic performance, insulation coordination, overvoltage, EMI, dynamic performance) and verify technical interfaces between major station components.
  • •Support testing, commissioning, energization readiness, and technical issue resolution across installation and trial operation; provide technical assurance outputs including risk registers and handover reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 12 years of experience in HVDC, FACTS, power transmission, power electronics, or large-scale power infrastructure projects.
  • •Demonstrated experience with VSC-HVDC systems or equivalent high-voltage power electronic applications.
  • •Proven experience in design review, installation oversight, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of HVDC facilities.
  • •Strong knowledge of converter transformers, HVDC valves, DC yard equipment, harmonic filters, protection systems, and HVDC control systems.
  • •Experience reviewing power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, harmonic analysis, and insulation coordination studies.
