Job Summary

Provide in-person orientation and mobility services to students with visual impairments in K12 settings, collaborating with virtual school teams to develop IEP-based travel skills, independence, and safety across home, school, and community. Independent consultant (1099) role open to residents of all 50 states with travel for on-site services. Must reside in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide in-person O&M assessments and direct services per IEP requirements.
•Communicate with parents, teachers, and students to develop consistent service schedules.
•Develop IEP goals relevant to the educational setting.
•Teach travel skills including sensory efficiency, cane techniques, orientation strategies, and environmental awareness.
•Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology recommendations to school staff.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 2 years of experience as an Orientation & Mobility Specialist.
•Valid state certification in Orientation & Mobility as required by the state department of education.
•Ability to travel for face-to-face O&M services.
•Experience supporting students in virtual settings.
•Strong organization and communication skills.
