Job Summary

Design plastic enclosures and mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics in the Video Devices Team. Own the full cycle from DFM/DFH-ready concepts to 2D/3D documentation, prototype testing, and press-form support through early production iterations (T0–T2). Collaborate with hardware and embedded engineers, industrial designers, quality, and manufacturing to deliver ergonomic, IP-rated, cost-conscious products and resolve defects found in testing and molding.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop plastic housing and mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics across the full design cycle.
•Create DFM/DFH-oriented solutions for series production, including injection molding, assembly, sealing, and serviceability.
•Collaborate with hardware/embedded engineers, industrial designers, technologists, quality, and manufacturing to align mechanical, functional, and quality requirements.
•Prepare production handover documentation (2D drawings, specs, technical requirements, and 3D models for molds).
•Support mold trials and changes after early castings (T0–T2), analyze molding defects, and incorporate feedback from prototypes and manufacturing.

Key Requirements

•SolidWorks experience (solid and surface modeling) with sheet metal basics, including creating accurate assemblies and preparing models for molding production.
•DFM/DFA knowledge: press-form fundamentals (opening direction, gating points, parting lines, filling risks) and optimizing designs for scale and cost.
•Hands-on prototyping and testing: manual verification/assembly, analyzing critical nodes, and troubleshooting issues like sealing, play, and mating fit.
•Materials knowledge for ABS, PC, PC+ABS, PA+GF, TPE, TPU, including how properties change across manufacturing and operating conditions; balancing cost/quality/manufacturability.
•Ability to produce full design documentation (2D drawings, tolerance tables, BOM, assembly specifications) and work with PDM/ERP systems (preferably SolidWorks PDM).
