Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop plastic housing and mechanical assemblies for consumer electronics across the full design cycle.
  • •Create DFM/DFH-oriented solutions for series production, including injection molding, assembly, sealing, and serviceability.
  • •Collaborate with hardware/embedded engineers, industrial designers, technologists, quality, and manufacturing to align mechanical, functional, and quality requirements.
  • •Prepare production handover documentation (2D drawings, specs, technical requirements, and 3D models for molds).
  • •Support mold trials and changes after early castings (T0–T2), analyze molding defects, and incorporate feedback from prototypes and manufacturing.

Key Requirements

  • •SolidWorks experience (solid and surface modeling) with sheet metal basics, including creating accurate assemblies and preparing models for molding production.
  • •DFM/DFA knowledge: press-form fundamentals (opening direction, gating points, parting lines, filling risks) and optimizing designs for scale and cost.
  • •Hands-on prototyping and testing: manual verification/assembly, analyzing critical nodes, and troubleshooting issues like sealing, play, and mating fit.
  • •Materials knowledge for ABS, PC, PC+ABS, PA+GF, TPE, TPU, including how properties change across manufacturing and operating conditions; balancing cost/quality/manufacturability.
  • •Ability to produce full design documentation (2D drawings, tolerance tables, BOM, assembly specifications) and work with PDM/ERP systems (preferably SolidWorks PDM).
