Key Responsibilities

  • •Adapt the NeuralGCM training pipeline and data needs to run efficiently on Google Cloud and NVIDIA GPUs.
  • •Document the training pipeline and distribute code via a GitHub repository.
  • •Implement and test coupling between NeuralGCM and the selected ML ocean model.
  • •Develop NeuralGCM+ within an open-source, tightly connected team through code reviews, design documents, and collaboration with external partners.
  • •Develop and present tutorials for NeuralGCM+ to interested user groups.

Key Requirements

  • •2-4 years of experience building and deploying an ML application in a practical or academic research setting, with fluency in Python and collaborative coding practices.
  • •B.Sc. in computer/computational science, atmospheric science, related geophysical science, or applied mathematics/statistics.
  • •Experience developing ML training code for use in a cloud computing environment.
  • •Demonstrated excellent communications skills.
  • •Bonus: Ph.D. with peer-reviewed first-authored publication(s) or accepted conference paper using ML in physical science settings.
