Job Summary

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System to achieve zero harm to people and the environment. Drive compliance with standards and legal requirements, manage risk controls, lead incident investigations, and develop site improvement plans. Oversee HSE training and emergency response readiness, analyze performance statistics and accident trends, and mentor site leadership and HSE teams to build a proactive safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System to achieve zero harm and ensure compliance with standards and legal requirements.
•Identify and control high-risk activities on site and lead investigations into actual or potential medium to high risk incidents, including corrective actions.
•Develop and review site improvement plans aligned with regional and global HSE strategy, driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
•Establish and maintain quality, safety, health, and environmental systems, including emergency response procedures and readiness.
•Mentor site senior management and HSE staff, develop site-specific HSE training programs, and analyze accident statistics and performance metrics to advise management and the OHSE committee.

Key Requirements

•Hold a formal Diploma/Degree level qualification in HSE.
•Minimum graduate (B.Sc.) with a formal HSE qualification such as NEBOSH.
•At least 8-10 years of practical experience as an HSE Manager in an industrial, high-risk environment (preferably a Container Terminal).
•Excellent influencing and communication skills.
•Knowledge of ISO and other international standards related to quality, environment, occupational health, safety, and security in the ports and shipping sector.
