Key Responsibilities

  • •Translate life sciences research into briefings, white papers, and executive-level reports tailored to government audiences.
  • •Partner with the Grants Manager to develop technical and scientific proposal components (e.g., technical narratives, specific aims, method descriptions, scientific appendices) for NIH, ARPA-H, DARPA BTO, and UK-funded initiatives.
  • •Build and maintain a repository of reusable, version-controlled technical content that can be adapted across proposals and programs.
  • •Use LLMs and other AI tools to accelerate drafting, editing, and summarization, and design lightweight automations to scale technical writing.
  • •Develop and maintain program documentation and regulatory-ready packages (e.g., SOPs, protocols, risk assessments, data management plans, biosafety summaries) with proper version control and traceability.

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in a life sciences discipline (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, neuroscience, genomics, biomedical engineering) or closely related field.
  • •Demonstrated track record of grant writing success, including proposals that have been awarded.
  • •Experience translating complex scientific/technical content for non-technical audiences, ideally in a government, policy, or regulated environment.
  • •Scientific literacy to accurately represent researchers’ work, including nuances/limitations, and challenge imprecise or unsupported claims.
  • •Hands-on, habitual use of AI tools (LLMs or AI writing assistants) in professional workflows, including comfort building lightweight automation for writing/documentation tasks.
