Job Summary

Legal Counsel (Employment) provides strategic employment-law guidance across Wise’s global business, drafts and advises on employment-related agreements and policies, and partners with People and Legal teams to manage employee relations, disputes, and cross-border compliance. Advises on regulatory developments, and supports training and process improvements to enable growth with minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide strategic employment-law advice globally with focus on recruitment, payroll and tax, compensation and benefits, and people operations.
•Draft and advise on employment-related agreements and policies, including contracts, offer letters, severance, confidentiality, and codes of conduct.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop processes and training for common employee-related issues and drive employment-related projects.
•Support employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and restructuring processes.
•Advise on employment disputes and oversee tribunal cases and overseas equivalents.

Key Requirements

•UK-qualified employment lawyer with 2 to 4 years PQE.
•Ability to navigate difficult issues and multiple stakeholders, advising the business on key benefits and risks, and developing solutions.
•Ability to juggle multiple matters at once across different jurisdictions.
•Ability to communicate legal advice in a succinct and pragmatic way to different areas of the business.
•Have a get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem solving.
