Job Summary

Lead strategic equipment automation projects for the pork industry by translating automation needs into viable engineering solutions. Develop preliminary designs and specifications, coordinate vendor layouts and installation schedules, and manage feasibility studies, proposals, and bid reviews. Prepare reports and contract documentation, maintain comprehensive project documentation, and provide leadership through employee development and coaching. Travel to support collaboration with plant, vendors, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop preliminary designs and specifications, including research, feasibility/economic studies, cost estimates, and as-built drawings.
•Coordinate equipment vendor planning, layouts, utility requirements, and installation schedules; review consultant deliverables and maintain documentation.
•Conduct engineering planning and operational reviews during pre-project studies, define scope, and manage requests for proposals and proposal evaluations.
•Perform contract administration by reviewing bid packages, preparing project documents, monitoring installations against specifications/budgets, and maintaining financial control.
•Drive positive employee experience through leadership, employee development, and coaching.

Travel: Extensive travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 140,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2+ years of experience in a leadership role including team development and management.
•Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
•Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
•Project Management, Contract Administration, and national codes/standards interpretation skills.
