Job Summary

Support WSP’s Power Delivery Substation Team by performing detailed design for low to extra-high voltage substations, including diagrams, schematics, wiring, SCADA-related components, communications, layouts, and protection elements. Assist with QA/QC for client deliverables and contribute to transmission line design work across new lines, upgrades, and fiber optic additions. Work in collaboration with the department to meet quality standards, client needs, and safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, and station physical layouts.
•Create technical drawings and design details such as cable and conduit plans, ground grid and foundation plans, structural plans, and control enclosure details.
•Develop protection and related designs including lightning protection plans and yard lighting plans.
•Support QA/QC for client deliverables and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and relevant policies.
•Assist with transmission line design across new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, working individually or within a team as needed.

Key Requirements

•BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
•Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and ability to build on it.
•Ability to live in the St. Louis area or relocate there with minimal assistance.
•Strong English communication skills (written and oral) to work with internal teams and external clients.
•Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without work sponsorship.
