Job Summary

Lead the design and delivery of complex utility-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage (BESS), and hybrid systems. Work across feasibility, approvals, tender evaluation, detailed design reviews, construction support (including QA), and commissioning. Coordinate multidiscipline engineering work packages, manage balance-of-plant delivery activities, advise clients as a trusted advisor, and mentor early-career engineers across teams locally in Sydney, Australia, New Zealand, and globally.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the project and design approach for renewable energy projects with multidiscipline engineering inputs.
•Support and lead project delivery excellence by leading work packages and arranging technical verification within AECOM standards and processes.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across renewable project disciplines (e.g., civil, structural, electrical, and project management) to deliver technically outstanding solutions.
•Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on transmission line design work packages.
•Mentor graduate and early-stage engineers to strengthen their transmission-related technical, design, and project capabilities.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of experience leading renewable energy engineering projects across multiple technologies and OEMs, including construction and commissioning stages.
•Ability to operate holistically in a design management capacity, understanding technical inputs, requirements, and verification across engineering components.
•Balance of plant system experience, with a track record managing design, procurement, construction, and commissioning stages.
•Experience interpreting site, technical, and contract requirements in an owners’ engineer role, including BESS performance guidelines.
•Registration (or actively working toward) on Australia’s National Engineering Register (e.g., RPEV or RPEQ), ideally supported by a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation or equivalent accreditation.
