Key Responsibilities

  • •Support and supplement regional and plant compliance efforts by working with established teams and processes.
  • •Document facility inspections and compliance certifications and participate in regulatory agency facility inspections.
  • •Evaluate test reports, analytical data, and procedures for compliance with regulatory requirements, test methods, and NRG environmental standards.
  • •Respond to environmental events at NRG facilities as required.
  • •Coordinate QA reviews of emissions/analyzer performance data (CEMS) and water discharge monitoring data, including monitoring plan updates, and support permit applications and corporate environmental initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline with 2+ years of environmental field experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4+ years, or a Master’s degree with relevant experience.
  • •General knowledge of major environmental laws (e.g., CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA) and applicable federal, state, and regional regulations and policies.
  • •General knowledge of industrial plant operations and environmental compliance programs.
  • •Preferred: experience with data acquisition/handling software (DAHS), Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), Discharge Monitoring Reporting (DMR), stack testing/methods, and groundwater monitoring/lab methods.
  • •Intermediate to expert capability in Microsoft Excel, plus ability to use AI tools and bots (working knowledge).
