Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and execute engagement/consultation programs, including project notices and Public Information Centres, with Indigenous communities, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • •Coordinate environmental specialists and collaborate with internal technical/professional staff to complete assignments.
  • •Identify and assess environmental features/constraints, alternatives, potential effects, and mitigation/avoidance opportunities; provide advice on environmental aspects and applicable legislation/guidelines/policies.
  • •Research, conceptualize, plan, and write environmental reports and documentation for planning/design/permitting and related requirements documents.
  • •Lead project delivery by developing objectives/scopes/costs, tracking plans/schedules/budget, managing changes, coordinating resources/third parties, and creating/maintaining project documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management/Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Urban and Regional Planning or related field, plus 6 years of related experience.
  • •Experience with the Ontario Energy Board and environmental assessment processes (e.g., Class EA for Minor Transmission Facilities, Impact Assessment Act, Ontario EA Act, Municipal Class EAs).
  • •Strong communication skills, including engaging discipline leads/design managers/contractors and negotiating with regulatory agencies to secure approvals.
  • •Knowledge applying environmental legislation and guidelines/policies to advise on environmental aspects.
  • •Class G driver’s license.
