Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure health and safety standards by complying with legislation and company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
  • •Operate backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment to excavate, move, load, and grade materials.
  • •Move, load, and unload materials into and out of railcars or other transportation modes.
  • •Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment.
  • •Assist Yard Manager/Yard Foreman with coordinating materials handling and equipment usage, and complete assigned miscellaneous tasks.

Key Requirements

  • •Maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and be reliable and able to work in a team environment.
  • •3+ years of experience in public works maintenance and/or construction, including at least 1 year operating a variety of heavy equipment (or equivalent directly related experience).
  • •Operate heavy equipment safely and capably to excavate, move, load, and grade earth/rock/gravel/materials.
  • •Conduct pre-operational checks, and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as needed.
  • •Lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent climbing, bending, stooping, and squatting while working long outdoor hours.
