Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair in-service substation and campus electrical equipment (breakers, transformers, switches, relays, buswork, control systems, station batteries).
  • •Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV, including isolating/de-energizing, applying grounds, verifying zero energy, and restoring service.
  • •Own routine maintenance on medium- and high-voltage operating systems, including inspections and checks of heaters, lights, and connections.
  • •Respond to outages, faults, alarms, and call-outs; restore service and document events.
  • •Conduct electrical testing on in-service equipment and read/interpret one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and switching orders to troubleshoot issues on running plant.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • •3+ years of experience working as a licensed electrician.
  • •Medium-voltage electrical experience, including switching and operations.
  • •Ability to safely work with medium- and high-voltage equipment and follow lockout/tagout, grounding, clearance procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • •Willing and able to work on-site in Memphis, TN, with frequent overtime and weekend support.
