Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and deliver the Hammer coaching programme for the Athletics Hub, helping develop a high-performance culture for University of Birmingham Sport. Work with the Head Coach and club committee to run high-quality coaching sessions, plan annual competition/event objectives, support athlete development, and mentor participants. You’ll also contribute to club management and development through leadership support, liaison with staff, budget recommendations, and event promotion for hub activities.

•Collaborate with the Head of Athletics to plan, set up, and deliver high-quality coaching sessions to develop club individuals, teams, and squads.
•Plan and coordinate event-specific coaching sessions and develop annual competition/event plans with target objectives for the sport and individuals.
•Manage team selection and performance, set selection standards, and provide constructive feedback to support athlete and team improvement.
•Keep BUCS and sport rules and regulations up to date and implement changes, advising on implications for budget, team performance, and club development.
•Support club management and development by liaising with athletics staff, assisting with disciplinary issues, reviewing budgets, and helping promote hub programming and events.

•Experience leading others and managing a small team, with motivational and mentoring skills (particularly for performance players).
