Key Responsibilities

  • •Define Asta engineering requirements by working with researchers to translate workflows into clear, prioritized specifications for the Agentic Frameworks team.
  • •Build and sequence the roadmap for Asta’s agentic framework and supporting tools, and run a continuous feedback loop between engineering and research.
  • •Drive adoption of Asta’s tools among internal researchers, and project manage execution across Asta engineering workstreams (tracking, unblocking dependencies, aligning priorities).
  • •Own Semantic Scholar’s data platform end to end, including public APIs, balancing reliability at scale with roadmap rebuild efforts.
  • •Own AstaBench benchmarking strategy and product governance/compliance for these products, including data subject rights.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and 5-8+ years of product management experience, including shipping developer-facing or research-facing products like APIs, platforms, or tools.
  • •Ability to translate ambiguous, research-driven needs into concrete engineering requirements and a sequenced roadmap.
  • •Experience partnering with engineering on a technical platform, including day-to-day prioritization and execution.
  • •Genuine interest in AI research, agentic systems, and applying them to scientific discovery, with ability to learn the technical domain quickly.
