Key Responsibilities

  • •Research, design, implement, test, and release features across SpiceDB and other AuthZed open-source projects.
  • •Drive best practices in software development, testing, and CI/CD to ensure robustness, scalability, and reliability.
  • •Own work end-to-end, including development, deployment, production operations, and participation in on-call rotation.
  • •Troubleshoot correctness, stability, and performance issues related to statement planning and execution in distributed systems.
  • •Collaborate with users and contributors in open-source development, including reviews, technical discussions, and evolving projects and APIs.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • •5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java (Go is a plus).
  • •Strong systems engineering background, including distributed systems, operating systems, and databases.
  • •Experience building and debugging complex production systems where correctness, reliability, and performance matter.
  • •Experience with cloud infrastructure and managing distributed databases in cloud-native environments.
