Key Responsibilities

•Weld metal components to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment using layouts, blueprints, and work orders.
•Perform welding and related tasks including thermal cutting, grinding, repairing cracks, filling holes, and preparing components for welding.
•Locate and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads using inspection equipment and a gas torch, meeting required testing/certification standards.
•Use accepted trade methods to perform manual welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions, including pre-heating, bead welding, tack welding, flame cutting, and heat treating.
•Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams; weld dissimilar metals and meet welding standards and close tolerances.

Key Requirements

•Be a US citizen and pass a thorough background check (including credit and criminal) to obtain a government clearance/public trust.
•Pass a pre-employment drug test and pre-employment physical, and then pass an annual employment physical.
•Be proficient with Aluminum TIG, Aluminum MIG, flux core, and Steel MIG welding processes.
•Be qualified and certified to American Welding Society (AWS) standards (including AWS D17.1 and AWS 17.1 variants) or obtain certifications within 60 days.
•Be able to work first, second, or third shift; and be physically able to perform welding work (standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing) in awkward/cramped quarters.
