Job Summary

Lead WSP’s geotechnical practice for transportation, power, property/buildings, and mining projects based in Tempe. Provide technical and leadership direction for subsurface investigation, geohazard identification and monitoring, and engineering design through construction support. Build client relationships, develop opportunities across business lines, oversee budgets and subcontractors on large projects, and ensure technical reports, presentations, and deliverables meet design and permitting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide leadership and direction for a growing geotechnical practice.
•Develop and retain a client base for high-level geotechnical engineering services.
•Collaborate across business lines to develop and support geotechnical opportunities and projects.
•Apply geotechnical engineering techniques across infrastructure phases, including investigation, design, procurement, construction, and operation.
•Lead larger-scale projects by overseeing budgets, performance, subcontractors/contract work, and producing technical reports and presentations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, or a closely related discipline.
•15+ years of post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
•Professional Engineering License in Arizona, or ability to become licensed in Arizona within 6 months.
•Proficiency in geotechnical engineering principles/practices, including design/build and application to permitting and project work.
•Experience with planning, design, and program/construction management across mitigation, new design, and construction projects.
