Support the installation and maintenance of copper and fiber networks, performing repairs, testing, and service activation (POTS, DSL, HSI, FTTH) in Grand Forks and Fargo, ND. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure reliable connectivity, adhere to safety protocols, and identify upsell opportunities while supporting a dynamic field environment.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Install, splice, and test fiber optic and copper cables for projects, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
•Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing fiber and copper networks, locating and resolving faults to ensure service continuity.
•Install, configure, and enable residential and small business telecommunication services such as POTS, HSI, VDSL, FTTH, and networking.
•Read and interpret service orders, repair tickets, technical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and maps to execute work accurately.
•Identify and pursue additional revenue opportunities by recognizing potential upsell or cross-sell services during customer interactions.

Key Requirements

•Experience installing, splicing, and testing fiber optic and copper cables for projects, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
•Proficiency with dark fiber testing, OTDR, and other industry-standard testing and conformance equipment.
•Experience with GPON, DSL, bonded DSL, and POTS services.
•Ability to read and interpret service orders, tickets, technical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and maps.
•Strong customer interaction skills and ability to determine customer requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
