Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to assist design of Flood Alleviation Schemes and Flood Risk Assessments
  • •Lead and contribute to tenders for projects and framework contracts
  • •Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development
  • •Build relationships with clients and multiple technical disciplines to deliver integrated flood risk projects
  • •Ensure outputs comply with legislation, guidelines, programme and budget while delivering high-quality outputs

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline; obtained or near to obtaining CIWEM or similar professional qualification
  • •Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW)
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for flood models and flood risk assessments
  • •Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh waters
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to mentor staff and work in a deadline-driven team environment
