Job Summary

Lead and optimize OpenAI’s hardware procurement operations across one or more business units. Own end-to-end procurement activities from intake to PO, maintain audit-ready data, and drive scalable workflows with AI-enabled processes. Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Security, and Accounting to ensure policy alignment, fiscal controls, and timely supplier/payment cycles, while building operating leverage and improving cycle times.

Key Responsibilities

•Own procurement operations outcomes for assigned hardware business unit teams and serve as their primary Procurement Operations DRI.
•Redesign workflows, intake paths, routing logic, and operating rhythms so hardware procurement operations can scale without linear headcount growth.
•Lead hardware and goods procurement operations from request intake through PO creation, PO maintenance, supplier coordination, receiving readiness, and invoice-readiness handoffs.
•Drive alignment with hardware stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve blockers, and keep procurement activity moving with the right level of control.
•Ensure requests and POs are complete, policy-aligned, audit-ready, and supported by clean operational data.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 216,000 - 240,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bring 7+ years of procurement operations, P2P, supply chain operations, or related experience, ideally in hardware or other complex physical goods environments.
•Demonstrate strong working knowledge of fiscal controls, accounting-adjacent procurement practices, invoice matching, accrual support, and audit-ready documentation.
•Navigate end-to-end procurement processes (request-to-PO) and supplier workflows with confidence, including PO maintenance, receiving, and invoice readiness.
•Show how people, process, policy, systems, data, and fiscal controls connect to drive business outcomes; experience with ERP/SaaS tools.
•Proficiency with platforms such as Zip, Oracle, Coupa, SAP, NetSuite, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar tools; ability to build scalable workflows and automate repeatable tasks.
