Job Summary

Design, validate, and launch new products by defining functional requirements, creating and integrating components, and evaluating effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Develop and execute conformity tests and process validation plans, and create/review component specifications and BOMs. Collaborate with manufacturing partners and external teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, using CAD/CAE to model designs and produce detailed engineering drawings, including tolerance work with GD&T.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide product design engineering support for assigned products and parts.
•Collaborate with senior product design team members to understand design purpose and requirements.
•Develop assembly/system concepts and perform detailed CAD-based design, including rapid model modifications.
•Design, develop, and evaluate conformity tests, product specifications, and process validation plans.
•Create and review component specifications and BOMs; optimize designs for manufacturability with internal/external partners and assess cost/jig complexity impact.

Key Requirements

•Possesses advanced specialized knowledge and can execute complex design processes for assigned work.
•Analyze and resolve issues spanning multiple functions using specified guidelines.
•Explain complex technical information and the rationale behind chosen processes.
•Define functional requirements, develop assembly/system design concepts, and perform detailed design using CAD modeling.
•Use GD&T knowledge to understand tolerance zones and perform tolerance stack-ups (including non-linear tolerance stack-ups).
